1.   Q.  What do you do when your windows suddenly fog up?
    A. If you are stationary, before you turn on the defroster blowers, move the heat control to hot and allow the engine to warm up. If this occurs while you are driving, open your driver's side window; it will clear your vision until you can safely adjust the defog/defrost controls in your car. This is especially common when you drive an SUV.
Reason:
It is not uncommon for the windows of a vehicle, no matter the type of vehicle or time of year, to fog up unexpectedly. What is important is your reaction to the immediate problem.  You must attend to making the appropriate adjustments when you are in a safe place to do so. Warming the car up adequately should avoid this problem.
2.
Q. What do you do when you come to an intersection, stop sign or stop light as the light changes to green?

A. Wait a few seconds and check all directions before continuing. Check left, right and then left again before proceeding.
Reason:
It is not uncommon for people to run lights or stop signs regardless of whether you have the right of way or not.
3.
Q.  What should you do when approaching a yellow light?

A.  Slow down, do not try to challenge the light or the cars waiting.
Reason:
Other drivers may have a vision of your yellow light and may try to gun through thinking that you will stop.
4.
Q.  What is the purpose of using cruise control?

A.  To maintain the speed posted.
Reason:
For many of you, whether home taught or not, you have been taught to use cruise control to help keep your speed within the legal limits. However, there are circumstances when you should not use cruise control.  Read further to find out more.
5.
Q. Under what circumstances should you not use cruise control?
     A. When the road is wet due to rain, leaves, sleet, ice or snow.
Reason:
When you use cruise control under these circumstances you will have a slower reaction and less control time to brake, and you may apply your brakes in an inappropriate manner.  You must apply the brake pedal while you still have plenty of time to stop. Keep in mind that driving on wet roads at high speed increases the chance of hydroplaning.  You must increase your cushion space when you are driving in adverse circumstances.
6.
Q.  Other then ice, black ice or snow, what other conditions do you need to exercise extreme caution while driving?

Remember!
When stopped to take a left turn, keep your tires facing straight ahead until you are making the turn.  This way, if you are hit from behind, your car will be pushed straight forward.  If your wheels are turned to the left, you will be pushed into oncoming traffic.

     A.  Wet leaves, sand and bright sun.
Reason:
Wet leaves and sand are just as slippery and hazardous as winter conditions. The sun can be very blinding, be sure to use good sunglasses that are not too thick on the sides. Wide sides can add to your blind spot.
7.
Q.  In which season are accidents most frequent?

A.  Summer
Reason:
People tend to travel more and driver faster in warm weather.
8.  Q.  When approaching a 4-way intersection with stop signs, who has the right-of-way if two vehicles stop at the intersection at the same time?

A.  The person to your right. If there is any question, motion for the other driver to go first.
Reason:
The driver on your right has the legal right-of-way. If you and another car are facing one another, it is important that you motion the other driver to let him proceed so there is no question as to who should go first.
